VIEW FROM THE PRESS: Auto Plus | Kahn imagines a Long Nose Defender
Feb 13, 2020
The Huntsman Longnose 105 is set to make a very big impression, as can be seen at www.chelseatruckcompany.com.
And our media colleagues certainly concur.....
Auto Plus France are just one of many, here’s what they had to say:
Afzal Kahn is the one that holds the record for the most expensive license plate (several million), on which ‘F1’ is inscribed. However, he is best known for being the founder of A. Kahn Design.
Although he turns his hand to Ferrari’s, Aston Martin’s and more, his favorite field is the Land Rover.
It is through The Chelsea Truck Company, one of his many companies, that he has latest project, based on the timeless Defender.
The name? Huntsman Longnose 105, a title that betrays the largest of its transformation….
The long nose moniker is apparent thanks to a much more powerful engine than the original ! From 122 to 550 horsepower!
In fact, 105 refers to the new wheelbase in inches, of the Land Rover Defender , 2.66 m against 2.36 m normally. The hood is substantially longer to accommodate a 6.2 V8 -developing 550 horsepower.
From these sketches, the Huntsman Longnose 105 promises a specific cosmetic treatment , starting with an exterior package including new wide body panels , new LED lights on the front and 16 or 18” Kahn wheels.
Inside , the atmosphere should be halfway between sport and luxury, with handmade racing seats, a leather steering wheel or an aluminum bracket. Additional equipment such as sat nav, 20-inch wheels or \"Harris Tweed\" inserts are just some of the catalogues of options available.
