The Chelsea Truck Company Goes Down Under

The Chelsea Truck Company, well established on London’s King’s Road, has ventured further afield, travelling over 10,000 miles to set up shop in Australia.
At the forefront of the Chelsea Truck Company Australia is Jack Dobson, a Global Ambassador for the Kahn Group of companies. Originally from Britain but flying the Australian flag since 2011, Jack has a particular soft spot for Land Rovers and a genuine passion for any car with personality.
In searching for a Global Ambassador, the Chelsea Truck Company had looked far and wide but in the end there was only really one choice. It was evident that Jack shared the same ideals upon which the company was founded; classic design paired with bespoke luxury.
“I love the simple ruggedness afforded by these pure, capable trucks but equally, I love the luxury and performance that comes from more modern prestige vehicles”.
Jack was first introduced to the brand when he saw a fully converted Defender in New Zealand; he was instantly hooked.
“I immediately thought, ‘Wow, what is that?!’ For me it embodied all that makes the Defender cool but amplified by a million and I wanted it! Research soon led me to Afzal Kahn and of course Kahn Design and Chelsea Truck Company. Over time Afzal and I developed a strong relationship, united by our love of cars, and the rest, as they say, is history”.
Jack is currently the owner of two Land Rovers; a 1968 Series IIA and a 2012 Defender 110 which are the main focus of his Instagram account @jackuar_land_rover, which has over 80 thousand followers. He plans to put some of his social media expertise to good use in his new role by leading an Instagram community solely dedicated to the Chelsea Truck Company Australia, which can be found at @chelseatruckcompanyau. Under Jack’s stewardship the account has already become well established, with the recently completed Jeep Black Hawk Edition now somewhat of a celebrity.
In the meantime, much of Jack’s time will be taken up ensuring the business runs smoothly and that Australian customers receive the best quality products; even if he has to source them from the other side of the world.
“To ensure we produce vehicles that are worthy of the Chelsea Truck name, all our parts are sourced direct from Kahn Design in the UK. Of course, there’s the small matter of the 10,000 miles or so that separate us from the UK, but we have overcome this challenge and have a robust distribution network in place”.
