In Build: Chelsea Truck Company CJ400
Feb 18, 2020
Walk inside A. Kahn Design’s central Bradford HQ and you will encounter a number of impressive vehicles.
One such vehicle, nearing completion showcases a vast amount of detailed work that has gone into its striking transformation.
The Jeep Wrangler – Chelsea Truck Company CJ400 receives many an admiring glance from Kahn technicians who allow me to inspect the vehicle.
So far, notable enhancements include a flame red exterior, 7.5” x 17” Jeep 1941 wheels in Satin Black with 245x75x17” tyres, vented foot pedals in machined aluminium, side wing blades in carbon finish, Chelsea Truck Company spare wheel cover, front and rear GTB sports seats in quilted and perforated leather, quad exhaust system in stainless steel and LED diamond bright headlights.
Indeed, it is very eye-catching and has clearly been reworked to a high standard, even though it is not something every individual out there would commission.
But that is not the point. Customers are free to commission vehicles that are tasteful and unique. Interestingly, the trend amongst discerning car buyers to customise their vehicles is something that has had the most well-known premium car manufacturers rushing to cater for clients.
Upon establishing the Chelsea Truck Company, the Jeep Wrangler, along with the Defender has become increasingly fashionable as a form of daily transport in the centre of the capital.
With that trade price specialist CAP Guide valuing a Kahn Wrangler 12 per cent higher than the stock model, it is no wonder that Kahn CJ300 Wranglers make up a large proportion of total UK Wrangler sales.
With Kahn buying vehicles directly from the importer and adding £7000 worth of Kahn kit and selling them for £30k, the same retail price as the standard car, the impact has been nothing short of phenomenal.
The Flame Red Chelsea Truck Company CJ400 was commissioned by a discerning customer, who like us, will be eagerly anticipating the finished vehicle.
