VIEW FROM THE PRESS: MSN | Kahn Design Land Rover Defender - Chelsea Wide Track
18th Feb 2014
Finished in alpine white, MSN\'s Gavin Braithwaite-Smith has joined media colleagues in commending Kahn Design for producing a vehicle with style and purpose.
In the feverish whirlwind of automotive fashion, there is seldom an opportunity to create a lasting and permanent statement. The Kahn 2.4 TDCI 90 Hard Top - Chelsea Wide Track however, is a vehicle that defies the fads of fashion.
Braithwaite-Smith says: \'In the words of Kahn Design, the Chelsea Wide Track Defender is more for “elite cultural events and tree-lined boulevards” than “vertical mountainsides and searing desertscapes”. So that’s its territory defined.\'
\'Those are 20-inch Mondial rims, finished in piano black with a diamond cut finish. And yes, those are integral spotlights in the Kahn bumper. The front end has also been treated to an X-Lander grille and headlamp surround. We have to say it, we think Kahn has done a good job with the Defender.\'
High praise indeed!
This is recognisable as a Land Rover, but like no Land Rover ever seen before. Discreet Kahn branding completes the package and leaves no-one in any doubt as to the source of this elegant functional design and meticulous attention to detail. You will never look at a Defender in the same way again.
