The Appeal of Personalised Number Plates
4th Aug 2014

A decent registration plate on a high-quality car adds to its pleasant appearance and personality.

You will find a plethora of personalised number plate owners buy for this very reason – to improve their cars. A carefully selected registration is truly exclusive because it is chosen rather than issued.

As well as visual considerations, there is a wide variety of reasons why more and more people are being drawn to the world of personalised number plates.

Why People Buy

The common view, though this is diminishing, is that people buy number plates for prestige. It is true that this is still a reason for buying, but from viewing the list below, there is a wide ranging rationale as such for delving into the world of personalised registrations:

• As personalised number plates continue to increase in value, people are finding them increasingly attractive investments. This could be to do with the proven increases in value and return certain buyers have enjoyed recently. Believe it or not, the value of high quality registration plates is only increasing. Low number, dateless registrations are especially sought after.

• They can produce great results for businesses wanting to promote their companies. Personalised number plates on company vehicles are generally good forms of advertisement. Can you imagine a news reporter pulling up to an interview with the number plate N33 WWS affixed to their vehicle? How about a Kahn Land Rover owner with the LR60 VER registration?

• They are completely unique. A personalised number plate cannot be copied and is entirely exclusive to the owner.

• Possibly one of the most popular reasons is that a personalised number plate allows one to express his or her personality.

Have Fun With Buying

One may choose to display a plate that depicts a name, a favourite hobby or a word that can be associated with one’s occupation. Also increasing in appeal are registrations that are simply fun and cannot fail to raise a smile. Perhaps one of the registrations below would be a perfect addition to one’s car:

How about FOO 7IE and S50 CER which is available for a price of just £1,667 for the consummate football fan?

There is also the option of a wedding-related plate to cherish your special day: WED IIN or WED IIN. To view our range of registrations, click here.

Stick To The Rules

It is very important to be aware of today’s regulations. It is now more crucial than ever that number plates are easily distinguishable for roadside cameras and witnesses of accidents or crime. To make visibility as clear as possible, all typefaces should use the standard font.

Additionally, with the exceptions of an optional, coloured border and one national emblem, there should be no other decoration on plates. The club crest of your favourite football team may look the part, but it is illegal to display it on the registration plate. Altering of spacing or characters with, for example, carefully placed bolts is also not permitted as it may disguise the true registration number.

With lawbreakers facing a fine and possible removal of the registration, it makes far more sense to allow one’s registration to receive all the admiration.
