Pick Of The Showroom: 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL
20th Nov 2014

The Mercedes-Benz 250 SL was first introduced to the public at the 1967 Geneva Motor Show. The brief production run ended a year later in January 1968, because of this short run the 250 SL is the rarest of the W 113 (Pagoda) series cars.

A new engine and rear disc brakes gave the 250 SL greater agility than its predecessors, while retaining the stiffer suspension and sporty feel of the previous SL models. The hardtop variant features a slightly convex rooftop, earning the car its “Pagoda” nickname.

Frequently featured in motoring magazines as one of the most highly regarded Mercedes-Benz models ever produced, both in terms of performance and design, the 250 SL has a timeless classic quality which makes it an attractive prospect for the discerning collector or motoring enthusiast alike.

This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL is offered in outstanding condition, with under 4,000 miles on the clock, and has been subject to a full bare metal restoration which would cost around £180,000 today. Finished in Anthracite Grey, with a beautifully appointed interior in red leather, this vehicle represents one of the finest extant examples of the series.

Stand-out features of this example include:

• Becker Mexico 7948 Satellite navigation retro radio
• New wood dashboard inserts
• Full Bare Metal Concourse Restoration with photographic evidence
• Engine rebuild at 110,000
• New red leather interior
