Kahn Design helps to raise £1 million for charity
18th Mar 2013

A. Kahn Design is celebrated worldwide for the archetypal refinement of vehicles and automotive accessories.

However, the company is more than just a design house - social responsibility as at the core of the organisations values and objectives.

And A.Kahn Design brand manager, Linny Oliphant was present at the Women of Influence Awards Lunch which took place at Glasgow\'s Grand Central Hotel and was hosted by comedian Fred McAuley.

With the help of sponsors and guests the committee\'s fundraising count is close to £1 million. Silent auction highlights included a striking Orange Vesuvius Kahn Timepiece won by delighted Sunday Mail Beauty Editor, Craig Alexander Wilson, a personal tour of the Scottish Parliament followed by dinner for 2 in the North Bridge Brasserie and a weekend stay at Edinburgh\'s luxurious Scotsman hotel.

Grand auction highlights included Kahn design Wheel Boutique premium wheels, a Euroyachts luxury skippered yacht charter and a Nicola Benedetti hosted evening at the RSNO.

The Women of Influence Award went to Katherine Grainger CBE, gold medal winner in the double skulls rowing event at the 2012 London Olympics.

The Women of Influence Committee supports Action For Children Scotland, the charity which works with vulnerable and neglected children, young people and their families and recognises inspirational Scottish Women not only for their ability to excel in their own field but also to contribute enormously to others.

Linny Oliphant, Brand Manager at A. Kahn Design, said: \"The Woman of Influence Awards recognises and celebrates the women who have had an extraordinary impact on Scottish society, whilst raising vital funds to help some of the country\'s most vulnerable children.

\"I would like to congratulate Katherine Grainger on being named Action for Children Scotland\'s Women of Influence for 2013. Katherine has made a very positive impact and serves as role model for the young people we support.\"

Organised by a volunteer committee of dynamic Scottish women, the Awards have raised over thousands since the inaugural event in 2001. Money raised goes towards supporting some of the country\'s most vulnerable and excluded children and young people in over 60 projects throughout Scotland.
